Abstract
In our always-changing world, it is crucial to have up-to-date knowledge and have all the necessary skills and abilities to allow us to learn and develop ourselves during our lifetime. It is more important to those professionals who are working with children and youngsters, educating them in their everyday work. In the case of these professionals, lifelong learning is for not only maintaining up-to-date knowledge, but also being multiplier of the lifelong learning concept in the lives of the students. In this study we assess the learning and self-improving opportunities of teachers, with special emphasis on competence development. In the frame of secondary research, the study examine the competencies developed in the teacher training courses. Based on a questionnaire survey, the study explore the teachers’ attitudes in terms of lifelong learning, and their opinion about the supply available in the field of self-education. Based on the research results, the study compare the supply of teachers’ further training options and the teachers’ demand.
