Abstract
The subcarrier transmission of microwave signals is a perspective method for the optical fiber links. Several approaches are presented covering the generation and reception of the subcarrier optical signals. The transmission problems like linearity, distortion, chromatic dispersion, etc. are also discussed The optical-microwave mixing process is utilized for an improved reception.
