Abstract
The integration of collaborative robots (Cobots) in construction has significantly enhanced operational efficiency, precision, and safety. Environment modeling and task allocation are fundamental for Cobots’ application in construction. However, deployment is hindered due to the complex and dynamic construction environment and processes. This research aims to develop a comprehensive framework for the systematic scheduling of human-Cobots on construction sites. The framework leverages advanced sensing technologies, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and real-time data integration to create a dynamic and adaptive operational environment, thereby supporting human-Cobot task planning, allocation, and decision-making optimization in construction. Our framework emphasizes continuous monitoring, dynamic task allocation, and effective human-Cobot collaboration to address the challenges of scheduling Cobots in complex and unpredictable construction environments. Future research will focus on refining the framework to further improve the adaptability and safety integration of Cobots in construction.
